About

Built so patients can choose safely.

Plastic surgery consultation

Plastic Surgeons Reviews is an independent global directory of plastic surgeons. We exist because patients deserve real, verified outcomes — not glossy marketing. Every review goes through human moderation, every doctor profile is checked against public registries, and we never accept payment to influence rankings.

Moderated reviews

Patients confirm proof of treatment before publication. Suspicious or incentivised reviews are removed.

Editorial independence

Doctors cannot pay to rank higher, hide reviews, or remove negative feedback.

Truly global

Surgeons from Seoul to São Paulo, Istanbul to Sydney. One platform, one standard.

Community-led

A moderated forum for honest, anonymous discussion of pre-op, surgery, and recovery.

Why this platform exists

Plastic surgery is one of the most consequential decisions a person can make about their own body. The information available to patients before that decision is usually controlled by the very people selling the procedure: clinic websites, sponsored search results, paid social posts, influencer trips, and review pages that quietly suppress complaints. That asymmetry is dangerous, and it is the asymmetry this platform was built to correct.

We started with a simple proposition: patients trust other patients. If real people can describe what actually happened to them — the consultation, the price, the surgical day, the recovery, the follow-up — and we can verify those accounts and present them honestly, a much clearer picture emerges than any brochure could ever offer.

Our principles

Independence. Surgeons and clinics cannot pay for higher rankings, prettier profiles, or the removal of honest reviews. We do not run banner ads from clinics. We do not accept gifts. We have no commercial referral arrangement with any clinic listed on the platform.

Transparency. When we remove content, we say why. When a profile has an unresolved dispute or a regulatory action, we display it. When we make a mistake, we correct it visibly.

Patient safety. Where content could harm a vulnerable reader — extreme procedures, posts that read like coercion, content that crosses into clinical territory — we add context or remove it. Safety beats engagement.

Fairness to surgeons. A bad review is one data point. A consistent pattern across many independent patients is something else. We design the product to favour signal over noise, and we give surgeons a meaningful right of reply.

How we verify a review

Every review goes through human moderation, usually within hours, never more than 48. The moderator checks for first-hand experience, internal consistency, language and tone, image rights, and patterns suggestive of paid or coordinated activity. Where a claim is unusual, we ask the reviewer privately for evidence — a clinic invoice, an appointment confirmation, a referral letter. That evidence is used to verify and then deleted.

We also run automated checks for duplicate text, mass posting from a single device or IP cluster, throwaway emails, and known clinic-marketing patterns. The automation flags content for human review. It does not, by itself, publish or ban anything.

How we verify a surgeon

Surgeon profiles are seeded from public medical registries in the surgeon's country of practice. Where possible we display the registration number and the issuing body. Surgeons may claim their profile after passing a verification step that confirms they are who they say they are and that they hold the credentials shown.

We do not certify clinical skill. We are not a regulator, a medical society, or an accreditation body, and nothing on a profile should be read as one. Always check the latest official registry for yourself before making a decision.

What this platform is not

It is not a medical service. It is not a clinic referral service. It is not a guarantee. It is not a substitute for a consultation with a qualified, licensed practitioner who has examined you in person. The presence of a surgeon in the directory is not an endorsement, and their absence is not a criticism. Cost guides are estimates compiled from publicly reported prices and patient-reported figures; they are not quotes.

Surgery carries risk. Outcomes vary between patients for reasons that include genetics, anatomy, lifestyle, post-operative behaviour and chance. Reading a five-star review does not mean your result will be five-star. Reading a one-star review does not mean it will be one-star. Use the platform as one input among many — alongside official registries, in-person consultations, and the advice of a clinician who has assessed you.

Moderation, scale and mistakes

We moderate thousands of pieces of content a week. We make mistakes. When we remove a post that should have stayed, restoring it is one email away. When we leave up a post that should have come down, please report it and we will reconsider quickly. Our error budget is small but it is not zero, and pretending otherwise would itself be misleading.

Independence and how we are funded

We fund the platform from a mix of donations from patients (see Help a patient), small grants, and modest subscription tiers for clinics that want analytics on their own profile. None of these revenue lines buys influence over rankings, content, or moderation decisions. The split is published in our annual transparency note.

Privacy, safety and the law

We take privacy and safety seriously. The full details are in our Privacy Policy, our Community Guidelines, and our Terms of Use. We comply with valid legal requests in the jurisdictions where we operate, and we tell users when their content is affected.

The team

A small, distributed team of patients, designers, engineers, moderators and clinicians-in-advisory roles. We do not publish individual staff names on this page out of respect for the safety of our moderators, who occasionally deal with hostile actors. Contact support@plasticsurgeonsreviews.com for press, partnership or research enquiries.

Not medical advice

Always confirm with a qualified, licensed clinician who has assessed you in person.

Your photos, your call

Faces blurred by default. Your images, your control, your right to remove them at any time.

Fair to surgeons

Verified surgeons can publicly respond to any review. We do not remove reviews because they are negative.

No paid placement

No clinic can buy rankings, reviews, or featured slots. Ever.
